This was the inspiration picture for NECROPOLIS which has to be in all caps when written because it's cooler that way.

Basically, everyone in this picture is dead. That's the concept of the story. Allow me to elaborate.

Jaxen, the guy in front, arrived in Necropolis, or the City of the Dead, a while ago. The whole city is in varying levels of decay and ruin, since it was built at the beginning of time and the dead are notoriously lazy at city upkeep.

Necropolis is the base of operations for the dead to be reborn. The surrounding grasslands and desert stretch on for miles, and within those grounds the strength of the dead souls are tested, and when they prove themselves worthy of being reborn, a door appears, the door to the world of the living.

Although, to accomplish this they must eliminate their own memories and personality. The door will only appear to a completely blank soul.

Anyway, back to Jaxen.

He's quite upbeat, for being dead. Although he has no concept of the innerworkings of Necropolis, and that defeating yourself is essentially the goal for rebirth.

Without this knowledge, he teams up with a loli- I mean, Yuki, the girl that is behind him in this picture, in order to have an easier time defeating the creatures that crop up around the outer edges of the city. Meaning, the creatures that are born from the memories of the people who live there.

The third person in the picture, the one who's face you can't see, is Shiro. He's a member of an organization who oversees Necropolis's affairs. The members of this organization are special in that they cannot be reborn. Even if they were to eliminate all their memories and become blank, their door will not appear for them.

Lastly, all souls in Necropolis are bound to a key, their key that will open the door to their rebirth. Even Shiro, even though he can't be reborn, has a key.

AAAAAAND I guess that's it? I don't want to delve too deep into characters and whatnot yet.
